General settings

Updated 17 July 2026

Settings is where your app's core configuration lives. The left-hand navigation splits it into General, Plans, Billing, Team, Integrations and Danger Zone; this article covers the General section.

Your app's identity

  • App Name is the name shown throughout your app and on your store listings. You can edit it at any time, but note the helper text: changing the app name requires a new build to take effect on the app stores, so plan renames around a store build rather than expecting them instantly.
  • App Description is a short summary of what your app is about.
  • App Category places your app in a category such as Health & Fitness, Education, Lifestyle, Business or Entertainment. Pick the one closest to your niche; it informs your store listing.

After editing, click Save changes in the page header. A toast confirms the save.

Language and timezone

  • Default Language sets your app's primary language. Multi-language support is coming soon, so today this records your preference.
  • Timezone sets the timezone used for your app, which matters for anything time-based such as scheduled notifications and event times.

Dashboard preferences

Two settings affect only your own dashboard experience, not your members' app:

  • Dashboard theme switches the Kinflo dashboard between light and dark, or System to follow your operating system preference.
  • Dashboard tour has a Replay tour button that walks you through every section of the dashboard again, handy when a new teammate joins.

Tip: the dashboard theme is separate from your app's theme. Your members' app appearance is controlled in the Style Manager, not here.

Custom domain

The Custom Domain card in General shows your always-on Kinflo subdomain and lets you connect your own domain. It is a big enough topic to have its own article: see Custom domains.

Change your password

The Password card at the bottom of General changes your dashboard login password. For safety it verifies your current password before setting the new one, so keep your existing password to hand. If you have forgotten your password entirely, sign out and use the forgotten-password link on the login page instead.

What lives elsewhere

Membership plan pricing is under Settings, then Plans; your Kinflo subscription and revenue are under Settings, then Billing (see Your Kinflo subscription and billing); and destructive actions such as deleting your app are in the Danger zone.
