Member accounts and passwords

Updated 17 July 2026

One account follows each member across your mobile app and web app: same login, same profile, same purchases. Here is how the account lifecycle works, and how to unblock a member who is locked out.

Signing up

Members can join from either surface:

  • On the web app, the signup page takes an email and password, or one tap with Google or Apple sign-in.
  • In the mobile app, members sign up in the app's onboarding. Email signups get a dedicated "Confirm your email" screen with a resend button; the confirmation link lands the member back in the flow, so nobody gets stranded in their inbox.

However a member joins, they appear in your members table with the Member role.

Changing a password

A member who knows their current password can change it on whichever surface they are on:

  • Web app: the member settings page has a Password card. It verifies the current password before setting the new one.
  • Mobile app: password change lives in the app's account settings, with the same current-password check.
  • Dashboard (for you and your team): Settings, under General, has its own Password card; see General settings.

Forgotten passwords

There are two roads back in:

  1. Self-service: the member uses the forgotten-password option on the login screen. Kinflo emails them a reset link; on mobile the link deep-links straight back into the app's reset screen, where they set a new password.
  2. You send it: from the Users page, open the three-dot menu on the member's row and choose Reset password. Kinflo sends the same reset email to their account address, and a toast confirms it went. This is the fastest fix when a member emails you saying they cannot get in.

Tip: when a member says the reset email never arrived, have them check spam first, then confirm the address on their row in the Users table matches the inbox they are watching. Nine times out of ten the mismatch is a typo'd or old email address.

Members who signed up with Google or Apple

Members using social sign-in do not have a password to reset; they simply sign in with the same provider button again. If such a member asks for a password reset, point them back to the Google or Apple button they originally used.

What you can see

You can never see a member's password, and neither can Kinflo; resets are the only mechanism. What you can do is trigger resets and manage the account itself; see Member actions.
