Do I need my own Apple or Google developer account?

Updated 17 July 2026

Yes. If you are on the Growth plan and shipping to the app stores, your iOS and Android apps are published on your own Apple and Google developer accounts, not Kinflo's.

Why it works this way

Publishing under your own accounts means the store listings, the app, and the audience are genuinely yours. Your brand name appears as the developer, your ratings and reviews accrue to you, and if you ever leave Kinflo your store presence does not vanish with someone else's account. It is the same reason your member payments go to your own Stripe account: ownership stays with you. See also Who owns my app and content?.

What the accounts cost

  • Apple Developer Program: 99 US dollars per year.
  • Google Play Console: a one-off 25 US dollar registration fee.

These fees go to Apple and Google directly and are separate from your Kinflo subscription.

What Kinflo does

You create the accounts; Kinflo does the heavy lifting from there. The build pipeline produces your binaries, the App Store submission flow checks your app is ready, and the Kinflo team supports you through the store submission process, including the listing assets via the App Store listing kit on the Builds page.

Tip: create both developer accounts early, ideally while you are still setting your app up. Apple's enrolment in particular can take a few days to verify, and having the accounts ready removes the last blocker when your app is approved for submission.

If you are on the Launch plan, none of this applies yet: your hosted web app needs no developer accounts at all.
