Creating an event

Updated 17 July 2026

Open Events in the sidebar and click New event. The editor slides in as a drawer with everything on one form.

The basics

  • Title - required, for example "Live Q&A: Growing at home".
  • Description - what the event is about.
  • Cover - upload a cover image or a cover video. The cover fronts the event everywhere: the dashboard list, the app's events screen and event shares.

Location

Choose Virtual or In person with the Location control:

  • Virtual - add the Meeting URL (Zoom, Google Meet and so on). The link is only shared with confirmed attendees and is never shown publicly. The Platform label field ("Zoom", "Google Meet") is what everyone sees before they RSVP.
  • In person - enter the venue name and address in the Address field.

Date, time and timezone

Pick the event's Timezone first; the dropdown covers every world timezone with its current GMT offset, so "Europe/London (GMT+01:00)" style entries are easy to find. Then set Starts and, optionally, Ends.

The times you enter are in the event's timezone. Members always see the event converted to their own local time in the app, so an 7pm London workshop correctly shows as 2pm for a member in New York.

Tip: set an end time whenever you can. It drives "until" times in listings and gives calendar entries a proper duration when members add the event to their calendar.

Itinerary

For longer events, use the itinerary editor to add a running order: each item has a time, a title and a description. Members see the itinerary on the event page, which is particularly useful for retreats, workshops and full-day events.

RSVP mode, price and capacity

The bottom of the form sets how members join:

  • RSVP mode - Instant, Form or Paid. Form mode opens a builder where you define the questions members must answer; Paid mode adds a ticket price and currency. Both are covered in Free and paid events.
  • Capacity - optional. Leave blank for unlimited; set a number to cap attendance.

Saving

New events end with three footer buttons: Cancel, Save Draft and Publish Event. Drafts are invisible to members until you publish; the full lifecycle is explained in Publishing and drafts. When editing an existing event the footer shows Save changes instead, and an Attendees tab appears next to Details showing who has RSVPed.
