Pricing courses

Every course is either free or paid. You set this per course in the course editor's Course Details panel with the Access control.
Free courses
Choose Free and every member of your app can enrol and start learning immediately. This is the right choice for lead magnets, onboarding content and tasters for your paid material.
Paid courses
Choose Paid and two options appear:
- One-off price (USD) - a single purchase price for lifetime access to this course. Leave it at 0 if you do not want to sell the course individually.
- Require membership plan - gate the course behind a membership instead of (or as well as) a price. "Any paid membership" unlocks it for every member on any of your paid plans; alternatively pick one specific plan to make it exclusive to that tier.
If you set a price of 0 and no plan, Kinflo protects you from accidentally giving a "paid" course away: it falls back to gating by your lowest paid plan. If you have no paid plans at all yet, the editor points this out; create one in Settings under Plans, or set a one-off price instead.
Tip: the two models combine well. Sell flagship courses at a one-off price to non-members, while your membership plan includes them, giving members a strong reason to subscribe.
What members see
Paid courses show a Paid lock badge on their card in the app. When a member without access opens one:
- On the web app, they get a buy button (for priced courses) that opens Stripe Checkout, or an upgrade prompt (for membership-gated courses). Card payments go to your connected Stripe account, so complete Stripe onboarding first.
- On the mobile app, purchases and membership upgrades follow the app stores' in-app purchase rules, so members buy through Apple's or Google's billing there.
Once unlocked, the course behaves exactly like a free one: full access to all modules, exercises and any completion reward.
Changing a price later
You can switch a course between Free and Paid, change its price or change its plan requirement at any time from Course Details. Members who already have access keep it; the new rules apply to members unlocking it from then on. Enrolment and completion data carries over untouched, which you can monitor in Student progress.
