Sending push notifications
Updated 17 July 2026
Push notifications are the most direct way to bring members back into your app. The Marketing section gives you a full composer with a live preview of exactly how your notification will look on members' phones.
Compose a notification
- Open Marketing from the sidebar and click New notification.
- Enter a Title (up to 65 characters) and a Body (up to 240 characters). Character counters keep you inside the limits.
- Optionally add an Image by dragging a file in or clicking the upload area.
As you type, the right-hand panel shows a live preview of the notification on both iOS and Android, using your real app name and app icon, so what you see is what members get. The previews are close approximations of each platform's notification style.
Choose your audience
The Audience selector targets who receives the notification:
- All Users sends to everyone (the option shows your current member count).
- Free Users Only targets members without a paid plan, ideal for upgrade nudges.
- Paid Subscribers Only targets paying members, ideal for premium content drops.
Choose where it opens
The Links to field controls what happens when a member taps the notification. By default it opens your app's homepage, but you can point it at a specific screen or piece of content, for example a new course, a post or an event, so members land exactly where the action is.
Send it, schedule it, or save it
Under Schedule, choose Send now to deliver immediately, or Schedule for later and pick a date and time. Then click Send Notification (or Schedule Notification).
Not ready yet? Click Save as Draft and it will wait in the Drafts tab; see Scheduling and history for how drafts, scheduled sends and past notifications are tracked.
Tip: keep titles short and punchy. On both platforms the title carries the weight, and long bodies get clamped to two lines on Android. Lead with the value ("New course is live") rather than the greeting.
Requirements
Push notifications reach members using your mobile app on the Growth plan. Members who have disabled notifications for your app at the system level will not receive pushes, which is normal on both platforms.
