Global search and Cmd-K

The dashboard has a single search that finds almost everything: pages, members, courses, products and more. It is the fastest way to move around once your app has real content in it.
Opening search
There are two ways in:
- Click the Search box at the top of the sidebar (it shows a ⌘K hint).
- Press Cmd-K on a Mac or Ctrl-K on Windows, from anywhere in the dashboard.
A spotlight-style overlay appears in the centre of the screen with the cursor already in the search field. Press Esc to close it at any time.
What it finds
As you type, results appear grouped into sections:
- Pages, every dashboard page: Feed, Storefront, Courses, Events, Bookings, Loyalty, Content Pages, Analytics, Builds, Settings, Manage Features, the Homepage Builder and more. Pages match from the first character.
- Users, members of your app, by name.
- Courses, your courses by title.
- Products, storefront products.
- Events, upcoming and past events.
- Spaces, your community spaces.
- Session types, your bookable session types.
- Campaigns, marketing campaigns.
Live data results appear once you have typed at least two characters, and each section shows its top five matches so the list stays scannable.
Navigating results
You can drive the whole thing from the keyboard:
- Type a few characters of what you are after.
- Use the up and down arrow keys to move through the results, the selection wraps around at the ends.
- Press Enter to open the highlighted result.
Or simply click any row with the mouse. Either way, you are taken straight to the right place: a page result opens that page, a user result opens their profile, a course opens in the course editor, and so on.
Think of Cmd-K as your universal "go to". Rather than scanning the sidebar for Storefront, then the products table for one product, type three letters of the product's name and press Enter.
Tips
- Search matches anywhere in a name, typing "yoga" finds "Beginner Yoga Course".
- Two characters minimum applies to data (users, products and so on); page names match immediately.
- If you get no results, check the spelling and make sure the content exists, search only looks within your own app's data.
- Search works from every dashboard page, including inside the Style Manager, you never need to go "home" first.
